Our History

AFFCAD was founded in 2009 by a group of four young men in Bwaise, one of Kampala’s poorest slums. Muhammad, Brian, Jaffar and Richard who after doing voluntary work with different organizations decided to return home and work to reduce the unbridled problems facing their community. They would address the problems using skills they had acquired and the networks established.

The inspiration behind the initiative was to bring about fundamental and sustainable change in the lives of slum youth through imparting technical, vocational and life skills, creating awareness on sexual reproductive health alongside supporting vulnerable communities including people infected and affected by the scourge of HIV/AIDS
